Bill & Bolla
Experience the beloved Bolla books brought to life as musical theatre! The rhymes about Bolla are as funny as they are moving. The poignant discovery at the heart of the story – the wonderful mystery of life itself – that no two siblings are alike, stirs up wistfulness, tears, laughter and wonder.
The rhymes about Bill and his sister Bolla caused quite a stir when they were first published in 1978, and were soon translated into several languages. The story was created by Gunilla Bergström, best known for her books about Alfie Atkins, and was inspired by her own children, Pål and Boel.
Presented by Alfie Atkins’ Cultural Centre, with support from Stiftelsen för scenkonstens historia i Göteborg, the City of Gothenburg, Sparbanksstiftelsen Alingsås, the Swedish Academy and Stiftelsen Längmanska kulturfonden.
Text: Gunilla Bergström
